How much does making a will cost in New York? This is probably the most basic question that comes to mind at the early stages of estate planning. It is also a question lawyers like to hear the least. As you may have noticed, a lawyer’s favorite answer is, “it depends.” This is true because all estates are different, and the amount of anticipated legal work can vary greatly. Most attorneys therefore charge hourly fees, in the realm of $350-$550 per hour.
We understand that an hourly fee can be intimidating as costs can quickly spiral out of control. They are not cost effective for smaller estates. Yet, our mission is to make wills affordable to everyone. Therefore, we have created flat-fee wills packages that allow you to get an up-front, all-inclusive price for your basic estate planning needs. These packages are appropriate for everyone with modest to average assets, making estate planning accessible to everyone.
Please keep in mind that basic wills and related packages are not appropriate for high-net-worth individuals. If you own substantial assets, speak to us about other estate planning options, which allow you to save on taxes and shield your property from lawsuits and creditors.
Will Consultation

Do you already have an existing will that you would like to discuss with us? Are you unsure about which estate documents are right for you? Our 30-minute initial consultation allows you to get the answers you are looking for without further commitments. Of course, if you decide to proceed with our other services, we will credit you the initial consultation fee. Upgrade to an individual basic will for just $50.
Last Will & Testament

With a simple Last Will & Testament you can decide how to distribute your entire estate after your death. Further, a will also enables you to select the executor, who is the person in charge of distributing your estate. Finally, a will also allows you to specify other last wishes, such as who will be the guardian for your minor children.
Let us prepare a basic will for you at a low cost so that your estate is protected. A basic will package includes a professionally prepared will. We will revise it up to three times until you are happy with it. Once you are, we will electronically deliver the completed document to you, along with step-by-step instructions on how to execute it.
Healthcare & Financial Powers of Attorney

Do you already have a will and want to add advance medical directives along with financial powers of attorney to look after your finances if you become unable to? A living will documents your wishes regarding critical or end-of-life care and names the person who will make medical decisions on your behalf if you are unable to do so. A durable power of attorney establishes the person who will make financial decisions for you should you become mentally or medically incapacitated.
We will prepare both sets of documents at one low price to give you peace of mind. You will receive all documents electronically, with detailed instructions on how to sign and notarize them.
Wills Package

Save yourself some time and money by getting all essential documents done at once. This package includes a basic will, a living will and a durable power of attorney, protecting you during your lifetime and beyond.
We will prepare all documents and deliver them to you electronically with detailed instructions on how to sign and notarize them. Additionally, we will send you hard copies of all documents by FedEx – leave the printing to us. This service is included at no charge and domestic postage is on us!
Complete Package

Our complete package pushes the boundaries of estate planning without venturing into trusts. It includes the Wills Package above but also includes an audit of your existing financial accounts. We will assist with devising beneficiaries for your 401(k), IRA, or pensions plans, and advise you on Payable on Death (POD) accounts. With our complete package, you may be able to avoid probate of your main financial assets and pass these on straight to your relatives without court involvement.
Digital Asset Inventory
